What's growing on....

I've been busy taking on some extra work (covering for vacations) and getting in some small trips here and there.... but the garden is still going

Its my third year growing tomatoes (I know lots of inexperience)... this year though has blown what little experience I had out of the water because they are literally growing out of control.... I have 4 tom plants in a 4' x 4' raised bed ... my daughter is about 3.5 ft tall.... these monsters are nearly 6 feet tall. The tomato cages are like Bruce Banners shirt when he turns into the hulk (I need to build some more supports not sure what I'm going to do next year).

A better view... the four tomato plants here are: sungold cherry, an determinate grape tomato (honestly the its only determinate but really its the most unruly of the bunch!!!), a heirloom chocolate cherry tomato, and a san marzano redorta.
Todays harvest... I think I need to let the choclate cherries ripen more.... hmmm
For beefsteaks I am trying heirloom brandywines... two plants  in a earthbox.... once again monsters that are the same size as the others... once again support problems.... these have been my problem children... bad wind burn  which led to the first fruit having Blossom end rot, and now horn worms. However despite the problems they both have at least 2 dozen unripened fruit and more forming each week.
Along the back of the tomato bed I trellised up cucumbers.... lesson learned.... putting two crazy children in the same room creates lots of chaos... Next year we're separating these guys (i.e. tomatoes and cukes)... putting the cukes with the eggplants ant peppers. Once again insufficient supports it was only 4 feet tall... these picts were taken a month ago... the cukes are now scrambling to find room to grow.
They are learning to grow out the back.... so it wasn't a total loss. I have 3 slicing cukes and 2 pickling cukes.
I'm regularly getting foot long cukes. And made 5 bottles of pickles so far. (Just the right number of plants for us)
Remember the lemongrass I rooted.... well she's doing well to... when I planted her, she was as tall as the floor of my deck...
In singhala its karapincha, in Marathi is Kadipatha, in English its Curry plant.... at the end of the winter she had come down with a bad case of scale infestation... well I almost completely pruned her and left her out for the ants to have at the scale mites and she's doing well... this is all new growth. Such an easy plant.
The curry plant and this mexican lime are my attempts at indoor/outdoor container growing... there was a learning curve with the citrus plant growing but hopefully these fruit are a sign that I am actually getting somewhere with this plant... my first limes that are actually getting big (I have had numerous fruit start but they were falling off). Lesson learned: feed 1 tablespoon of citrus fertilizer every two weeks, patience... and don't prune the tips.
Onions... trying to cure these so I can store them... worked out well for the garlic hopefully this will be as easy as those. (the rain doesn't help this much)

Thats it for now.... there are others but I am sure blogger will kick me off for posting too many pictures soon enough.
