Favorite Plant Friday: Unknown Raspberry Plant

Inspiration for growing this plant: Raspberries are native/local to my region. As well as the fact that my son consistently loves raspberries and there just were not enough things in the garden that he was willing to eat consistently.

What do I love about this plant: I bought this plant as a bareroot one year ago. It spent all of last summer in a black landscapers pot and it looked like it was dead last September (from the heat and lack of water... I ignored it!!!). I went to throw out the plant this spring and low and behold there were leaf buds so I found it a home, gave it some fish fertilizer and off it went. Its the first raspberry this season to have Flower buds (not sure if you can see them in this picture below).

Growing tips:
No tips on these yet... when they say raspberries are hearty plants boy do they mean it.

Source:  Burpee... it is either a Jewel or Kilarney Raspberry. I am not sure which one though but once the fruit comes it will be obvious b/c Jewel is a black raspberry and Kilarney's are red.
