Happy Valentines Day....

So for my valentines this year I tried making cakepops.... I got the recipe from here I used this cake mix

the kids had a great time breaking apart the cake. I ended up using only about 1/2 a container of Duncan Hines rich and creamy choclate frosting.

I don't know if I made the cake pops too big or if I need a better cake pop holder (I had made a makeshift holder from a box). With a 13x9 inch cake I ended up making 24 cakepops and arguably I could have made about 36.

I didn't dip them in nuts like the original recipe. You had to work quickly to get the decorations on the cake pops before the candy hardened, but it worked... of course we had a little too much fun with these Wilton candy eyes.
