So this weekend a bunch of my highschool friends came down to Jersey to throw me a little shower.... since I really couldn't come up to see them. They all ended up back in the town where we went to school (well maybe not the exact town but the general vicinity). Whereas I've moved away and actually stayed away. They stayed the night and it was just us girls so we had a little slumber party. The best part was that I don't really get to see these guys that often or spend a lot of time with them... it was really great to get to spend time with them and catch up on whats going on with everyone. Its was was nice b/c it was like old times... we're just a bit older... the topics of our conversations are much different.. its not about what happened on Melrose Place or who was going to the football game (our football team really was bad so you didn't go to even cheer on the team) but its about whose parents are retired and child birth/labor (the latter was RB's favorite topic... NOT).
It was great... OC who had always wanted to be a doctor since I had known her way back when... was now almost done with her residency... and so she was showing me how the baby was positioned... it was pretty cool... apparently the baby is standing on her head... which makes me wonder whether what I think is kicks which are predominantly in my lower abdomen are really punches?
The weekend ended with us making a stop at the Indian grocery store.... arguably one of the tourist attractions of New Jersey... its right up there with all the malls. A bit of an odd feeling of course as we went to high school in a place where there were very few brown people.. and in this grocery store all you found were brown people.
